It all started with painting
for the women in my life.
Once I painted my first silk piece, already the second one I made for my mother, the third and fourth were for my grandmothers, then came friends and relatives.
Every free moment of the isolating 2020 I spent thinking about the women in my life and turning their authentic beauty into visual symbols. This practice made the year magical, one month and one beauty at the time.
My joy was threefold. First imagining a representation of a woman’s beauty, painting it gave me life, and finally witnessing the joy of her seeing herself in a piece of silk was indescribable.
Then came the commissions.
People started turning to me with a story to capture on silk, or a wish to make a person in their life feel special.
We would jump on a call to create a concept and symbolism, before I retrieve into the studio. This process is often emotional for both sides, and I remain honoured to be the one turning your love into stories on silk, to witness them forever.
